Oscar Award Winning Suicide Squad? Best Hair and Makeup
Hey you guys so I just got word the Suicide Squad got an award. Hah in your face Marvel!
Suicide Squad now has more Oscars than Star Trek Beyond and A-Man (Forbes).
When I heard that suicide squad had more Oscars than Star Trek. I was like, “WHAT? That’s not true!” and then I did some research. They actually did win more than Star Trek.
I also discovered that people think that Suicide Squad was the Oscars joke which I don’t think it is. I actually liked it. Sure, the storyline could have been better. But, Suicide Squad is a leap ahead compared to the Amazing Spiderman 2. That movie was BAAD. The look on Killer Croc was makeup that had to be put on with rubber, painted, and somehow keep it on the actor’s face. All that I read says it is very hard to do.
Last year movies were pretty bad except Zootopia, Sing, Moana, and some other movies. But now, they have to give out Oscars anyway so they have to give it to only movies from last year. So what if Suicide Squad can beat Star Trek. You can do anything even if you don’t have really talented actors (except Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn…she was great.
The rest wasn’t very good. Sorry to my sister—the Joker kind of was bad acting). Sure, it may not have the best picture award. But if they can get best makeup and hair that is really good. You shouldn’t get judged only on the story when you might be really good at everything else.
Jared Leto and Margot Robbie were probably the best actors in the movie. I would change the storyline a bit. I mean you have the Joker so you have to do more with him. And don’t make it look like a marvel rip off if you don’t want people to call your movie just another DC rip-off of Marvel. In Suicide Squad, the Enchantress’ Brother looked like Ultron. And their little army looked like the beast Loki put on Thor on Earth. And according to www.forbes.com, ‘’the interesting thing about this isn't necessarily that Suicide Squad was honored in this category. The hair and makeup were surely the highlights of the production, and the team responsible obviously earned the kudos of their peers. What's surprising in an age when costumed, heavily made-up and coiffed superheroes dominate the box office, so few films in this genre have received recognition in these technical categories. In fact, they are rarely even nominated.”
Forbes magazine goes on to say, “Suicide Squad might seem like an unlikely Oscar-winner, and by most measures, that's true. In this case, however, it was encouraging to see a genre film make it to the podium for technical accomplishment, even if it was just by a hair ‘’
