Calling H.R. McMaster “a man of tremendous talent and tremendous experience”, President of the United States Donald Trump selected him as the National Security Adviser. Lieutenant General McMaster stands at the helm of the Army Capabilities Integration Center, committed to making sure that the U.S. Army is in the best shape to combat challenges that may arise. Mr. Trump’s first National Security Adviser Michael Flynn was compelled to resign after concerns due to the revelation of details of a conversation between himself and the Russian Ambassador to the United States.
Mr. Trump had spoken with Mr. McMaster about the job on Sunday prior to Monday’s announcement. Despite the praise President Trump offered for Mr. McMaster, the Lieutenant General was not Mr. Trump’s initial selection for a replacement. His initial selection, Robert Harward, rejected the President’s offer.
