Having run for president twice already, Vice President of the United States Joe Biden, on Monday, did not rule out another bid for the role of Commander-in-Chief when asked about his political future by reporters.
Mr. Biden said, “I’m going to run in 2020.” He later clarified that he’d be running “for president”. Despite this seemingly bold confirmation, Mr. Biden provided a follow-up with greater ambiguity. He said, “I’m not committing not to run. I’m not committing to anything.”
In The Hill, Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, a popular politician of the progressive wing, has been listed as a possible candidate for the 2020 race. Bernie Sanders, who ran a popular but ultimately unsuccessful bid for the Democratic nomination in 2016, was also named as another possible contender. Some of Mrs. Warren and Mr. Sanders’s Senate colleagues such as Cory Booker and Kirsten Gillibrand were also placed on the list.
