A Werewolf Night
“Good night Mary!” yells mom. I run to bed because tomorrow is Halloween. I am so excited! The spookiest and frankly the sugariest night of the year! I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back to sleep. Since I am awake I decide to go outside to look at the full moon. On my way I grab a Twix (or two). As I sit on the front step, I hear a strange howling noise. I wonder if the neighbor’s dog got left outside again. As I get up to go back to bed, I see a big, hairy dog walking through the light of the moon and I see that it is wearing human clothes! A werewolf is in my front yard! I start to run back to my house to get my parents. As I run towards the door, I turn around and see the werewolf about to pounce on me! I feel the sharp claw on my shoulder and I scream! All of a sudden I find myself covered in a cold sweat in my bed. Was that really a dream? It felt so real. The clock reads 3:27 am. I have to go back to sleep, no way I am getting up now. It is way too early. When it is finally morning, I rush outside to see if I can find anything that could prove it wasn’t just a nightmare. “Of course it was just a dream, Mary. Get over it!” I say to myself. But if it really was a dream, why is there a paw print on the front porch? If it really was a dream, why is there a scratch on my shoulder? If it really was a dream, why do I still hear that strange howling noise?! Who said werewolves aren’t real, especially on the night before Halloween!
