Who is your favorite fictional character in literature?
We invite you to write a haiku, cinquain, limerick, ballad, sonnet, free verse, or any other poetry writing style that suits your fancy, about your favorite literary, fictional character for K12’s 2016 Poetry Contest.
Whether you see yourself in a particular literary character, want to be more like that character, or the character’s story portrays something important about your life and who you are, let that character inspire your poetic creativity!
All K12 students in grades K–12 may participate. And you can submit more than one poem.
What can you win?
First, second, and third place winners will be selected from each grade and will receive:
First Place: Trophy, poetry journal, and student’s choice of a book of poetry by their favorite author
Second Place: Trophy and a poetry journal
Third Place: Trophy
