In the book, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Charlie Bucket, a young poor boy wins a chance to go to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory with his Grandpa Joe. There are many adventures that they come across at the factory. Charlie ends up being one lucky little boy at the end of the story. I am going to tell you a bit about the book. In my opinion “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl is one of the best books that I have ever read. I believe that if you read this book report, you would feel the same.
Charlie Bucket was a very poor boy that lived in a very small, old house along with his Grandpa Joe, Father, and Mother, etc. At that time, there was a great candy-man in the neighborhood named Willy Wonka. Nobody had seen Willy Wonka in about twenty years. Willy Wonka ran a contest sending out Five Golden Tickets around the world for Five lucky children to find. He hid them in candy bars at the candy stores. If you found one of the tickets, you would get a tour of his factory and a life-time supply of chocolate. To get a picture in your mind, here is what the ticket looked like.

The story starts at Charlie’s very small house but then moves on to take place at Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. The Factory has every single piece of candy and chocolate you could imagine and also some crazy different rooms.
Now I am going to talk a little bit about the two main characters that made this story possible. Charlie Bucket does not have very good clothing since his family doesn’t have much money. His characteristics consist of being sad, shy, happy, nice, and very honest. The main character in this story was Willy Wonka. Willy Wonka owns a lot of things besides the factory. He owns Oompa-Loompa’s. Oompa-Loompa’s are mysterious creatures from Loompaland. For years, everyone had been curious who was helping Mr. Wonka. These were the little creatures who helped Willy Wonka run his Factory. Willy Wonka’s characteristics consisted of being a jokester, happy, and a bit strange.
The author of the book is my favorite author. Roald Dahl was born in Llandaff Cardiff, Whales. He was born on September 13, 1916. In my opinion, if you see him as the author of a book, you will probably enjoy that book. Some other books that you can read by him are: “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “James and the Giant Peach,” “The Enormous Crocodile,” and “Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.” Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator is part two of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone so you need to read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory first and then Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator after.
I hope you enjoyed my book review on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! After you read the books, make sure you watch the movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The movie is a bit different than the book. The movie came out in 1971 and it stars Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. There is also another movie called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that came out in 2005 starring Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. This movie is more like the book. I hope you enjoy reading the book and watching the movies.
