Guide to Video Game Programming

Come on come on! Jump JUMP! Come on, jump over Bowser. Alright grab the princess! This might be you in a video game. Have you ever wondered how they were made? Or who makes them? The following is your guide to becoming a video game programmer.

Video game programmers create stories, sounds, and graphics. They develop games that work on PC’s and other gaming consoles. The first video game designer was Steve Russell in 1962; he designed Space Wars.

The gaming industry prefers you to have a bachelor’s degree, but it is not required. However, you must learn programming language such as C+++. You must also have a great liking for video games. You are preferred to take classes such as art and computer science, and have a good understanding of the computer platforms that you create your video games on.

Creative directors earn higher salaries. You can get 1-3 million dollars creating a video game. You can only get around 100 or 200 dollars for an Indie game. Lower class developers get only around 500 to 5000 dollars when creating the game.

After researching programming for many days, I found it has the qualities of a great career, such as high salaries, few years of college required, and it is fun too. That is why I recommend it. So if you want to make the next game, this is the job for you!!!
